Oversized and heavy units weighing up to 180 MT are loaded/unloaded by Klaipedos Smelte CT onto/from rail platforms, flat rack and open top containers, specialized trucks and lo-lo vessels, dry-bulk or project cargo carriers.
Lashing and securing of units including preparation of tie-down schemes validated by authorities is suggested to customers by trusted partners of the terminal, private companies with a specialized profile. Intermediate bonded storage in open yards and dry warehouses is available within port area, both at berth and distantly. Handling, staging, washing and disinfection of NATO military cargoes including heavy tracked vehicles is done at a secure designated area during multinational exercises. A straight berth with 13.20 meters draught is available for roll-on roll-off (Ro-Ro) ships equipped with ¾ side ramps carrying military vehicles and industrial machines.
